Tigers Blank Crusaders on Senior Day

The Tigers dominated the University of Dallas Crusaders, 4-0, on Senior Day at Stewart Field.

 

CC held possession for almost 60 minutes of the match on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers out shot the Crusaders 30-4 and 10-0 on corner kicks.

 

Freshman Jasper Broad made the start in goal and played 63 minutes before senior Brandon Burke played the final minutes of the match.

 

Connor Webster, a freshman forward, recorded his second goal in two games and started the momentum for the Tigers in the 7th minute of the match.

 

Senior defender Mason Davis contributed a goal of his own on senior day, unassisted in the 45th minute. Junior midfielder Alexander 'Spud' Ward continues to build upon his impressive season and extended the Tiger lead in the 61st minute off a pass from Ronan McCann.

 

Vincent Luglio, a sophomore forward scored the final goal of the match in the 74th minute off a header from Alex Meyerhoff.

The Tigers 11 game unbeaten streak marks their longest unbeaten stretch since 1992.

 

"It was a great win," coach Scott Palguta said. "All six of our seniors have found a way to contribute over their time here and we're building momentum and with the success we're making our guys think, 'why not us'?"

 

 CC closes out their regular season next weekend with matches against Trinity University and Schreiner University in Texas on Friday and Sunday.
